Correction of the lower eyelid
Anticipated pain level : Minimal
Anesthesia: Local
Treatment Duration: 2-3 hours
Scars: Nearly invisible, at the front of the ears
Final result: After 3 months
Stay at home: 8-12 days

Why?
Lower eyelid blepharoplasty is performed to correct under-eye bags.
Unlike upper eyelid surgery, this procedure may involve removing excess fat, redistributing the fat for a smoother contour, tightening the underlying muscle, and removing any surplus skin. The goal is to refresh and rejuvenate the area under the eyes for a more rested and youthful appearance.

The Procedure
Lower eyelid blepharoplasty is typically performed under local anesthesia and takes approximately one hour.
The first approach focuses primarily on removing excess fatty tissue.
The second technique, known as the Hamta technique, aims to redistribute the fatty tissue along the orbital area, with a particular emphasis on reducing dark circles under the eyes.

Results and Post-Operative Treatment
The patient can return home immediately after the operation.
Some swellings and contusions can appear.
The stitches are removed four to seven days after the intervention; social activity can be resumed after a week.
Learn More About It
- When considering blepharoplasty, the surgeon will first identify the underlying cause of the under-eye bags. These may result not only from an excess of fatty tissue but also from fluid accumulation. While the fatty tissue remains constant, the amount of fluid can fluctuate throughout the day. If the bags are caused by excess fat, an incision made just beneath the lower eyelashes allows the surgeon to remove the tissue. In most cases, the surgeon will also remove excess skin. This technique also facilitates the tightening of the circular eye muscle.
