Closed Rhinoplasty
Why?
Closed rhinoplasty enables several objectives to be met. reducing the size of the nose, straightening a bent nose, removing a bump or correcting a fold between the nose and the upper lip. These interventions can be combined during the same operation.
Closed rhinoplasty is not however recommended when the request concerns the tip of the nose.
The Intervention
UA nose operation takes about two hours and is performed under general anaesthesia. By an incision inside the nostril, the surgeon can reach the entire osseous and cartilaginous structure of the nose and intervene on the selected areas.
Results and Post-Operative Treatment
After the operation, packs are placed in the nose in order to prevent bleeding.
Bruises appear during the 48 hours after the intervention.
A plaster splint and a dressing are to be kept in place for seven days.
Social activities can usually be resumed after two weeks.
The stitches are reabsorbable and the nose operation leaves no visible scars.
