Scars: Invisible, inside the nose

Final results: After 1 year

Social isolation: 10 days

Why?

Closed rhinoplasty enables several objectives to be met. reducing the size of the nose, straightening a bent nose, removing a bump or correcting a fold between the nose and the upper lip. These interventions can be combined during the same operation.

Closed rhinoplasty is not however recommended when the request concerns the tip of the nose.

The Procedure

A nose surgery typically takes around two hours and is performed under general anesthesia.

Through a discreet incision inside the nostrils, the surgeon gains access to the nasal bone and cartilage structure, allowing precise modifications to the targeted areas.

Results and Post-Operative Treatment

Following the surgery, nasal packing is placed to minimize the risk of bleeding.

Bruising typically develops within the first 48 hours.

A plaster splint and dressing must remain in place for seven days.

Most patients can resume social activities after approximately two weeks.

The stitches are absorbable, and since the incisions are made inside the nostrils, no visible scarring is left behind.

Additional Information

  • After the nasal packs are removed, patients may experience a sensation of nasal congestion, which is a normal result of swelling in the mucous membranes.
  • It is recommended to avoid blowing your nose during the first two weeks following the surgery.
  • Physical activities such as sports, or any movements that require bending over or lifting objects, should be avoided during the initial recovery period.
