HBOT
What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) involves the use of oxygen as a medical treatment to heal specific conditions. In HBOT, 95 to 100% pure oxygen is administered at a pressure higher than atmospheric pressure inside a special chamber.

This process activates various biological mechanisms in the body, allowing oxygen to reach areas with deficits (such as after brain trauma or infarctions) and stimulates the immune system to support the healing of inflammation. It also promotes the formation of new blood vessels, which significantly improves the healing of large and hard-to-treat wounds.
HBOT is not only beneficial for treating medical conditions. It can also be important for athletes, aiding in rehabilitation and boosting performance.
Studies have also shown that HBOT rejuvenates the skin, making it more youthful and elastic. For this reason, we recommend HBOT to promote faster healing and a shorter recovery period after surgery.
At BeClinic, we use oxygen chambers with limited pressure levels, enabling us to treat approximately 90% of conditions safely and without side effects. The treatment is completely painless.

Why HBOT?
By delivering 95–100% oxygen instead of the 21% we typically inhale, our cells absorb significantly more oxygen, allowing them to function at a higher and more efficient level. HBOT can treat any condition linked to a cellular oxygen deficiency. Although some complex or multifactorial diseases may not be fully cured, HBOT often improves symptoms.

If you wish to have one of these conditions treated at Beclinic, the doctor will first assess with you whether good results can be achieved with the treatment and whether you are eligible for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT). Afterwards, a treatment plan will be drawn up.
What happens during a session?

Guidelines FOR THE PATIENT
It is not allowed to bring the following items:
- Mobile phones or other electronic devices
- Flammable substances such as alcohol and perfume
- Lighters or matches
- Fountain pens or ballpoint pens
- Sprays or aerosols
- Carbonated or other beverages
- Metal items, such as underwire bras
Contraindications:
- Collapsed lung (pneumothorax)
- COPD, bronchitis
- Epilepsy
- Pregnancy
- Pacemaker, neurostimulator, pain pump, or internal defibrillator
- Ear infection
- Please stop smoking. Smoking has a very negative impact on the effectiveness of the treatment and on wound healing. If quitting is too difficult, try to delay smoking as long as possible before and after the session. We also advise against using e-cigarettes or nicotine patches.
- Avoid eating or drinking too much before the treatment. You will not be able to use the toilet during the session.
- For (fire) safety reasons, we ask you to change into a cotton bathrobe. If your bra has no metal underwires, you may keep it on along with your underwear.
- Beclinic will provide you with a cotton bathrobe to wear during the session. You will not be able to wear a face mask inside the chamber. A blanket will be provided.
- Feel free to bring something to read or a puzzle to work on. Phones, iPads, and e-readers are strictly forbidden in the chamber due to the high oxygen concentration and fire risk from batteries.
- You will be given a medical questionnaire and must sign an informed consent form before receiving the treatment.
- Multiple sessions may be necessary. This will be discussed during your consultation.
